PEC is the Owner’s Engineer for the rebuild of the Charter St. Heating Plant for the University of Wisconsin, Madison. The scope of work included basic design for the modernization of the facility consisting of the addition of 4 new 225,000 lb/hr package boilers, a new extracting / backpressure steam turbine generator, and upgrade of all auxiliary plant systems including the steam distribution, condensate and feedwater, water treatment, natural gas, fuel oil, chilled water, compressed air, electrical distribution and controls.
Client: Pöyry Appleton - (WE Energies)
PEC provided design of the steam turbine and related equipment for this 60MW biomass cogeneration facility adjacent to a paper mill.
PEC scope of work included evaluation of the power cycle, specification of the steam turbine, evaluation of and selection of the OEM, process design, specification of steam turbine related balance of plant equipment, review of vendor documentation, assistance and review of detailed design, and support during construction.
Client: Department of Veterans Affairs
PEC engaged as the Engineer of Record and provided design for the cogeneration plant consisting of two (2) 2.2 MW engine generators with jacket and exhaust heat recovery to serve the existing campus steam distribution. Working as the design consultant to Boldt Construction PEC has developed the heat balances and P&IDs and all Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Control procurement and construction documents for the project.
